Until last weekend I had never heard of Half Moon Run, and knew nothing about them. After they played at the Pstereo festival in Trondheim I have listened to their CD many times, and so far it is one of the best CDs I have heard this year.
The concert at the Pstereo festival earned them a 6 out of 6 from NRK P3’s critique. Since I only got to listen to a few of their songs there, having obligations to deliver pictures to the journalist, I had to listen to their CD when I came to my hotel that night.
The band comes from Montreal and consists of Devon Portielje on guitar and vocal, Conner Miolander og keyboard, guitar and vocals, plus Dylan Phillips on drums, keyboard and vocal. Their music is a mix of indie pop, some Crosby, Stills & Nash and their own unique feeling for great melodies.
So far the band has released one CD, Dark Eyes, that was released last year. This year they have played SXSW, Reading and many other festivals in Europe. They played in Oslo in spring, as a support for Mumford & Son before the Pstereo festival. October 23rd they will come back to Norway, playing at Parkteatret in Oslo.
OHere is the videos to their song Full Circle. Enjoy!
