Judith Owen‘s music is is very emotional, with some delicate music. She writes music with good melodies and with good harmonies. On her latest album she had drummer Russ Kunkel, known from James Taylor and numerous other artists, plus bassist Leland Sklar, also a living legend with countless recordings on his CV.

At the tour Judith Owen is on, Leland Sklar, Pedro Segundo and Gabriella Swallow accompanies her. All of them, Owen included, are excellent musicians, and they performed the songs in both a delicate and emotional way. Judith Owen’s voice is strong and expressive, and in this setting Leland Sklar played both accompaniment and more soloistic.

I like Judith Owen’s music, and I liked seeing her and her musicians live. The concert was held in the culture church Jacob in Oslo, which is a beautiful venue for a concert like this. The sound is great for a semi acoustic setting, making it a great experience for the audience. The church wasn’t filled to capacity, probably because few people know about Judith Owen in Norway. But there was a conspicuous number of bassists in the audience, coming to see Leland Sklar. And we all got value for our money
