The second half of my favorite photos from 2018 are also taken at different venues and at different times of day. When photographing concerts there are many things to consider, and light or absence of light being maybe the most important. Then there are different degrees of action – some artists jump around, while others ars just standing still. But this makes it even more interesting, no concerts are exactly alike.
This year has also been a good year for concert photography. I have attended eleven festivals and forty five different concerts, totaling more than two hundred and eighty concerts altogether. The concerts have been a good mix of styles, from different sub-genres in metal, through pop, rock, singer songwriter to Serbian pop and Argentinian tango. Here is the first batch of my own personal favorites from 2018.
It has been a difficult task to choose my own favorite photos from 2016 among the 270 plus concerts I have photographed this year. I have shot concerts at outdoor stages, at big indoor venues and at clubs in varying weather and light conditions. I have shot big international artists and lesser known local artists, all of them doing their best to give their fans a great time. Here are my 15 favorite shots from 2016. 2016 was an active concert and photo year for me. I attended twelve festivals through the year mostly in Norway, but also the SXSW in Austin, Texas. I also saw thirty other concerts though the year. Metal, singer songwriter pop, rock, hip hop, punk are some of the styles I have heard in 2016. Here are #16-35 of my personal favorite photos from 2016. The year 2015 has been a good one for concert photography, with some twelve festivals and several separate concerts. I have no idea how many photos I have shot from concerts, but I have tried to pick out the twenty I am most satisfied with. Except for the top five, I have problems ranking the others.
