Oslo Fjordfest 2015 – Day One with Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, Amund Maarud, Wovehand and more

Oslo is a city with an active concert scene all year, but so far with very little activity in July. June and August see many festivals, and this year, Oslo Fjordfest is a new festival, placed in July. As a debutante, the festival have a realistic ambition, having 2015 as a test year. by:Larm is the Norwegian showcase festival that started in 1998, meaning this year’s edition is the 18th. I have attended all of these, the first 10 years in different cities in Norway, but from 2008 the festival has been held in Oslo. Like other showcase festivals, there is a conference and a music showcase part, and the last few years they have also started an interactive part, like at SXSW. I started out yesterday at the concerts, and here are my best pictures of the four concerts I saw and heard. (Picture above: Karin Park)

Leeann’s Barndance

One of my very best Austin traditions, is Leeann Atherton’s Barndance on the Sunday after the last SXSW day. It has been my tradition since 1997, and through Leeann, I have met many interesting and very friendly people from South Austin. I have had some great BBQ, too!
