Metallica have been the leading band in the trash metal style since the early 80’s. Since 1991 they have also been the commercially most successful band in the genre. James Hetfield has been their lead singer and guitarist all these years, and today, August 3rd, he is 50 years old.
Buddy Guy is 77 years old today, and here are pictures from some of the concerts I have seen with him. FIrst of all at the ACL Festival in Austin in 2005, but also at the Notodden Blues Festival in 2009.

He is one of the leading musical artists on the newer hard rock and stoner rock scene, with present and former membership in bands like Kyuss, Eagles Of Death Metal, Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures. The Norwegian Blues Union and the magazine BluesNews celebrated their 15 year birthday yesterday. The party was held at Victoria Scene in Oslo with most of the best Norwegian blues artists during the last 40 years. Jeff Tweedy, the singer and front man of Wilco, is 45 years old today. For almost 30 years he has been one of the most important men in the Alternative Country movement, with a background form Uncle Tupelo and Wilco.
Willie Nelson is 79 years old today, April 30th, and he just got a statue in his hometown Austin. On top of that a part or 2nd Street in Austin has been renamed Wilie Nelson Boulevard. Here are some pictures I took of him when he was 70 and 75 years old.
