Yesterday they played at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, and late January they start on a new two month tour in Europe. The tour is coordinated with the release of their latest album, Deep calleth upon Deep.

1349 – The Year of the Black Death
1349 is one of Norway’s leading black metal bands. They were formed in 1997, and they are named after the year the Black death came to Norway, killing more than half of the Norwegian population and somewhere between 50 and 80 million people in Europe. This year it is 666 years since the Black death, and last night 1349 presented their album Hellfire from 2005 at the Vulkan Arena in Oslo, celebrating, or maybe rather commemorating those 666 years.
Satyricon – from Russia to Raade

Since then Satyricon have started a European tour that lasts until Christmas. Yesterday night they played a local festival in Raade, south of Oslo, and two days before they played in Sibir in Russia.
Satyricon at the Opera
In February this year I saw Satyricon with the National Opera Choir performing To The Mountains at Norway’s National Opera House. The performance was part of a conference arranged by the Opera and the Olympiatoppen, an organisation set up to train Norwegian elite sport.
