The third day of Inferno 2018 had Satyricon as the headliner. The band has been on an extensive and successful tour in Europe the last half year, and Saturday night was the closing concert on the second leg of this tour. Before Satyricon Ihsahn played a concert with his solo work. Another good day for extreme metal! (Photo above: Satyr from Satyricon)

Satyricon at Sentrum Scene in Oslo
Satyricon have been on tour in Europe and South America for the last two months, and at last they are back in Norway with eight gigs in different cities. Yesterday they played at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, and late January they start on a new two month tour in Europe. The tour is coordinated with the release of their latest album, Deep calleth upon Deep.
Blastfest, Day four, Saturday
The last day of Blastfest had Satyricon as headliner. With Immortal out of play and an inactive Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon are the only ones, together with Mayhem, of the big black metal bands in Norway. There are no signs of Satyricon giving up, on the contrary. The closing gig on Blastfest showed that they are still one of the absolute best live acts on the metal scene today. The other bands that I saw the last night, were Decapitated, Destruction, Tsjuder and Finntroll. (Picture above: Satyricon)
Satyricon – from Russia to Raade
I recently saw Satyricon at the Norwegian Opera, playing with the Norwegian Opera Choir. The concert was sold out and got great reviews. Since then Satyricon have started a European tour that lasts until Christmas. Yesterday night they played a local festival in Raade, south of Oslo, and two days before they played in Sibir in Russia.
Satyricon And The Norwegian Opera Choir
Satyricon at the Opera
In February this year I saw Satyricon with the National Opera Choir performing To The Mountains at Norway’s National Opera House. The performance was part of a conference arranged by the Opera and the Olympiatoppen, an organisation set up to train Norwegian elite sport.
