While Thursday had focus on old school bands, Friday saw a more varied mix of bands at Inferno. Death metal, industrial, symphonic, black, sludge were all presented through the night. Personally I was looking forward to see Samael, and also Anaal Nathrakh and of course seeing Gorgoroth again. (Photo above: Samael)
One of the good things about SXSW, is that I get to see many bands I haven’t seen before, which shouldn’t surprise anyone, since there was more than 2500 bands playing this year. But the high number doesn’t mean that all bands are necessarily very good. One of the good ones I saw, was Black Tusk from Savannah.
Mastodon and Gojira are playing support for Metallica on their Black Album tour. Wednesday this week they played for 40.000 people in Oslo, Norway. Here are some pictures of the two great bands from when they played the Norwegian Wood festival in Oslo last summer.
