One of the most interesting artists in Norway in later years, is Stein Torleif Bjella. He has played for a long time with the band Tolv Volt, and has his solo carreer on the side. Although his solo efforts are definitely the most succesful these days. He was awarded a Norwegian Grammy for his second solo CD, Vonde Visu, and was nominated for his first, Heidersmenn.

Jarle Bernhoft rules the stage
Sometimes a concert stands out as more than just a performance. Some artists have a stage presence that makes their concers something you remember a long time. Jarle Bernhoft is one of those artists, and last night’s performance at the Working Class Hero festival in Drammen was definitely a concert to remember.
Kaizers Orchestra on tour
Kaizers Orchestra are one of Norway’s best live bands, and they have played extensively since they started more than 10 years ago. Harmonium, double bass and oil barrels are some of their instruments. Both on CD and also live they are definitely worth listening to. Yesterday night they played the Working Class Hero festival in Drammen.
Susanne Sundfoer at the WCH festival
The Working Class Hero festival in Drammen has established itself as a quality festival, even if it isn’t the biggest one in Norway. Each year they have some really great artists on the program. This year Susanne Sundfoer is one of them, and she opened the Friday night at the main stage. Here are some pictures from the concert.
Ozzy Osbourne with friends
The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, is on a road with what was supposed to be a Black Sabbath tour. But Tony Iommi’s illness prevented this, and instead Ozzy invited some friends to join him on the tour. In Oslo we were allowed to photograph him with two of them, Slash and Zakk Wylde. Here are pictures from the concert at Oslo Spektrum.
Kent – Not Afraid Of The Dark
Kent is maybe the biggest band in Sweden, but relatively unknown outside of Scandinavia. They have played together for more than 20 yars, and have released 10 CDs. Their latest CD called Jag är inte rädd för mörkret (I Am Not Afraid Of The Dark), was released in April. Friday May 24th they played for a sold out house at the Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo.

Mastodon and Gojira are playing support for Metallica on their Black Album tour. Wednesday this week they played for 40.000 people in Oslo, Norway. Here are some pictures of the two great bands from when they played the Norwegian Wood festival in Oslo last summer.
Metallica are coming to town
Wednesday night Metallica are playing in Oslo, at Valle Hovin. They played in Oslo in 2009 and 2010, and I had the good fortune of photographing both events, plus when they played the SXSW in Austin in March 2009. Here are some of the pictures from those two concerts to shorten the wait for those who have tickets for the Valle Hovin event.

Satyricon at the Opera
In February this year I saw Satyricon with the National Opera Choir performing To The Mountains at Norway’s National Opera House. The performance was part of a conference arranged by the Opera and the Olympiatoppen, an organisation set up to train Norwegian elite sport.
